Typical and unfortunate examples that are experienced by those separating can include accusations of physical or sexual abuse by one former partner against another or the children involved. Whilst a sad indictment on society that false accusations are made to "control" a situation, none the less without investigation it is impossible for the authorities to tell it there is any value behind them.
